Formerly, senior positions at Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), including: Director-General, Strategy and Planning; Executive Director, coordination with Multilateral Development Banks; assuming representative positions in Manila, New Delhi and Washington DC; Executive Director, JBIC Research Institute. Former Vice-President, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Member of the Advisory Board, Growth Dialogue. Deputy Chairperson, International Development Finance Club (IDFC).
